Metodología: doble ciego como se ve en el texto:

-Given the controversial nature of these results, a multicentre blind investigation of the inhibition of basophil degranulation by high dilutions of histamine was performed. In order to further investigate the effect, using a flow cytometric assay of basophil activation, further studies were performed in three of the participating laboratories.-

– In the first study, we attempted to avoid potential sources of problems/bias by arranging for all the solutions to be prepared and coded by an independent laboratory. The coded solutions were sent to the participating laboratories in a blinded fashion. Furthermore, all participants had received previous training in the basophil counting technique and the data were analyzed by an independent statistician-

Como se ve no te enteras de nada lumbrera. El experimento que pides se hizo desde 1994 y tú como si nada, ya se replico por 4 laboratorios independientes en 1999 y posteriormente por otros 4 laboratorios independientes más otros estudios en 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009 y 2010.

Analizando el experimento de Benveniste y el acoso y destrucción de Maddox

Usted sí que ha demostrado su prepotencia e ignorancia en el tema. Y debería darte pena ser «doctor» cuando no sabes ni leer lo que te he puesto. Por puntos a ver si está vez lo entiendes:

1) 7 experimentos: 3 positivos,un cuarto con lectura doble ciego dio resultado positivo, y solo los últimos 3 donde cambiarón el protocolo casualmente dieron resultado negativo.Si no lo entiendes entonces deja te explico, Maddox y cia cometieron una grave falta de ética al modificar el protocolo de investigación ya acordado porque en lugar de seguir lo pactado jugaron (traducción: fraude) con todo.

2) Lo del error de muestreo, ya le dije que el físico (doctor en ciencias físicas en el CNRS, Francia) analizó los datos en bruto y demostró que las estadísticas que usó Maddox están amañanadas, eso es doble fraude y vil manipulación.

3) Quiero ver qué parte no te cabe en la cabeza de que cuatro laboratorios independientes reprodujeron el experimento y que eso fue condición para que Maddox aceptará el artículo Benveniste.
4) Usted miente: «hasta hoy ningún investigador ha podido hacerlo en las condiciones normalizadas de trabajo que requieren este tipo de experimentaciones»

¿Cuáles son las «condiciones normalizadas»? ¿Llevar a Maddox que no sabe estadística o que adrede manipuló los datos para obtener la distribución de Poisson que él quería para confirmar sus prejuicios? ¿Llevar a un maguito que no tiene la menor idea de metodología científica? ¿O llevar a un Stewart que no sabe preparar las soluciones ni tiene la más mínima idea de inmunología? Usted elija, mientras tanto me limito a volver poner lo que usted omite adrede:

-Our results confirm and build upon the hypothesis that high dilutions of biologically active compounds may indeed have an effect which mimics that of lower dilutions/higher doses.-

-The experiments described here have repeatedly lead to similar results in terms of immunomodulation (inhibition) and in terms of active dilution ranges.. in spite of the different protocols used during this long period and the fact that the experiments have been performed on hundreds of different blood samples.-

3) Adrenaline inhibits the immunological activation of human basophils at pharmacological and ultra-low doses – Med Sci M.
-It is conceivable that ultra-low doses (ranging from ng to µg/kg), when distributed in an average body mass of about 70 kg, would reach the receptor area as ultra-high dilutions, thus implying the possibility that ultra-low doses may still be active at infinitesimal concentrations in selected individuals-

-The results of the author’s replication experiment with extremely diluted thyroxine and highland amphibians are in line with those of the initial researcher team and with those of the 4 previous independent researchers involved in these studies between 1990 and 2010.

Usted dijo:

«El experimento no pudo replicarse, por mucho que te empeñes en decir lo contrario, en el mismo momento en el que se eliminó en el protocolo normalizado de trabajo el sesgo del investigador mediante ensayos de doble ciego y control del error de muestreo, que es como deben hacerse.»

Contraste su insenstatez con la documentación de abajo que cito:

Ennis, a professor of immunology at Queens University, Belfast, says she was a hardnosed skeptic of homeopathy and the Benveniste work. When she expressed this in the face of a published homeopathic trial, a manufacturer of homeopathic remedies asked her to join a team that would make another attempt to replicate that result. She agreed, expecting to add to the evidence against homeopathy. After the end of the trial, she declared herself “incredibly surprised” by the result. Quoted in the Guardian, she says, “Despite my reservations against the science of homeopathy, the results compel me to suspend my disbelief and to start searching for a rational explanation for our findings. The trial, which was essentially a replication of Benveniste’s experiment, took place in four different laboratories in Italy, Belgium, France, and Holland. Ennis’s skepticism wasn’t the only safeguard. The homeopathic solutions (and the controls) were prepared by three independent laboratories that made no other contribution to the trial. Inside those solutions were— or rather, had been—molecules of histamine.. Ennis was not satisfied by the results; there could have been bias in identifying which basophils still had their blue color because the researchers did it by eye. So she demanded they make a different measurement, one that could be automated. That way, a believer among them would not be able to skew the results—even unconsciously. She had the basophils “tagged” with an antibody that would make them glow if their histamine secretion was being suppressed. A light-sensitive probe then did the counting. The result was the same. The record of the experiment, published in Inflammation Research, concluded that “histamine solutions, both at pharmacological concentrations and diluted out of existence, lead to statistically significant inhibition of basophil activation by anti-immunoglobulin E.

-At first, the ‘fraud squad’ simply watched Davenas as she performed three experiments. The results of these experiments were positive. The observers then coded the tubes prepared by Davenas, so that the control tubes and the various high dilution tubes were randomly mixed. Again, the outcome of die experiment was positive.

Rather than taking the risk of being a witness to other such blind experiments (thus validating previous reports on high dilution effects), Maddox then intervened directly in the experimental protocol. He was apparently convinced that the pdsitive results he had just observed could be due only to fraud. In the case of the fourth experiment, fraud could not have been perpetrated during the basophil counts, since they had been counted in a blind fashion. In  order to obtain the ‘proof’ they were searching for, Maddox and his co-workers tightened their coding procedures. To make things appear more dramatic, Randi stuck the envelope containing the code on the ceiling. Stewart insisted in handling the pipettes himself during the preparation of the microscope plates, in spite of the fact that he had no experience in dealing with cells (he was a physicist). The result of this new procedure was that one experiment was disqualified because the corresponding basophils were unresponsive even to high concentrations of aIgE, and two experiments gave negative result For instance, he [Maddox] wrote that he was ‘surprised to learn that experiments do not always work’. Even a biologist who has never read a word about the sociological components of scientific duplication knows that biological phenomena are difficult both to control and to reproduce. This is precisely why the INSERM scientists had performed 300 experiments (including some 50 blind experiments)  before  being challenged by a fraud squad.

Sir John was also responsible for one of the more bizarre incidents in the modern history of science journalism.His obituaries suggest tha the was ultimately proven right;but the story is much more complicated than that,and it poses a challenge for those of us whose interests concern the ethical and social implications of medicine…  Even when established scientific methods are followed scrupulously, as Benveniste did in his initial article,biomedical gatekeepers can respond defensively if the findings tweak their prejudice.´

 

Transcribo de 13 THINGS THAT DON’T MAKE SENSE:

–In 1988 Benveniste convinced the journal Nature to publish the details of an experiment that showed water was permanently altered by molecules that had once been dissolved in it. The publication was on the condition that a rerun of the experiments be carried out in independent laboratories. That was done, in Marseille, Milan, Toronto, and Tel Aviv. After publication (with disclaimers), Nature requested that the experiments be done again, this time in the presence (and under the intense scrutiny) of three independent witnesses… 

De la seudoreplicación de James Randi:

Not that Ennis quite puts her own results beyond question. It was, she admits, a small study, and no one has yet replicated its findings. In one famous attempt, a team of scientists failed to replicate Ennis’s experiment for a BBC Horizon program. Ennis appeared on the show, but she later dis-
tanced herself from the experiment, saying there were a series of flaws in the protocol

Y respondiendo a tu insensatez.

–If ultradilute solutions can have effects on biology, will this send science back to the drawing board? No. Science works; millions of experiments and observations can be explained using scientific principles. None of those results are changed if homeopathy turns out to be right. Why? Because none of those millions of experiments and observations has told us everything we would like to know about the microscopic properties of water.-

Y esto hace referencia a que el argumentito manitado de que la homeopatía contradice todo lo que sabemos de física es falso porque solo se enfoca en el aspecto microscópico no en las propiedades macroscópicas del agua. 

La gente y los científicos honestos (sean de naturales o sociales) necesitan ver que usted es un simple seudoescéptico o ciencinazi que no entiende, ni es capaz de refutar nada:

«Que es lo mismo que hace la industria homeopática en buena parte de sus remedios, utilizar tratamientos fitoterápicos en dosis normales, añadiendo algún componente homeopático, y atribuyendo la eficacia a éste en lugar del principio activo fitoterápico que es el que realmente funciona.»

¿Dosis normales? Hombre usted se nota que en su vida ha leído el prospecto. Dosis tan pequeñas no se usan en fitoterapía, no se usan ni potencias bajas ni medias que es el rango de homeopatía que aún tiene el soluto presente. Otro elemento relevante es que será instructivo saber dónde quedán los homeopáticos que no están hechos con plantas sino con materias primas minerales o animales, ¿son también fitoterapia?

Si usted responde con un sí entonces ya se le ve el plumero.Y eso de «añadir un componente homeopático» es absurdo, creo que le falla la redación porque nadie añade un «componenete» y menos «homeopático», lo que se añade es lo que usted llama «principio activo» y luego se diluye. Mejor aprendamos un poco de historia. En A review of the use and role of low potencies in homeopathy., publicado en la revista CTM, historiadores de la medicina nos dicen y no opiniones infundadas como la suya. Contrastese esto:

–Contexto: El tema de la elección de potencias homeopáticas siempre ha sido controversial. En «altas» potencias no hay moléculas de la substancia inicial y en bajas potencias ( incluyendo tinturas ) la línea entre homeopatía y medicina herbal está desdibujada.

Método: Se revisa la literatura sobre selección de potencias, incluyendo el uso de bajas potencias y sus efectos en la fisiología de órganos. El artículo intenta examinar las fronteras traslapadas entre homeopatía y medicina herbal en la práctica clínica e investigación básica.

Hallazgos: Tanto bajas como altas potencias son utilizadas en todas las áreas de la homeopatía desde prescripción para padecimientos agudos o crónicos a tratamiento de condiciones. Las bajas diluciones juegan un papel en la prescripción homeopática, y son particularmente prominentes en sistemas de homeopatía enfocadas en los efectos organotrópicos de productos medicinales homeopáticos integrados con diagnóstico y tratamiento de medicina convencional.»

«Desde una perspectiva histórica, los modos predominantes de prescribir han cubierto el espectro completo desde el uso de bajas potencias ( incluyendo tinturas madre ) hasta el uso exclusivo de potencias muy altas….  En 1848, por ejemplo, el médico homeópata Karl Saller registró las medicinas homeopáticas más usadas en el Hospital Homeopático Stuttgart, listando en total 150 medicinas. Muchas de ellas (24) fueron administradas como tinturas madre, más comúnmente se administraban bajas potencias que iban de 2X a 4X. Alfons Stiegele (1871—1956), el director de este hospital y clínico homeópata líder, usualmente no prescribía potencias arriba de 15X–

Pero usted no aporta razones fundamentadas. Eso de que hay «0 valoraciones positivas» es un invento suyo sin más. He puesto algunas referencias en el hilo de comentarios y varias apuntan a que la gran mayoría son valoraciones positivas a la homeopatía a partir de estudios y existen también replicaciones independientes. A nadie le importa si usted es científico porque su autoridad para un tema que claramente desconoces es irrelevante.

Y sobre la memoria del agua usted miente. Hay varios experimentos incluso realizados y replicados en distintos laboratorios como el del gran Luc Montaigner y sus colaboradores:

 

Montaigner L. et al. 2015. Transduction of DNA information through water and electromagnetic waves – Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine.
Asunto Benveniste: Leer el artículo no hace daño, es `High dilution experiments a delusion». En ese artículo se mencionan 7 experimentos: 3 de rutina, 1 con doble ciego, y otros 3 con doble ciego donde cambiaron el protocolo. Los 3 primeros dieron positivo, entonces Randi dijo que los resultados eran así porque no se había controlado el sesgo de los técnicos a cargo, el cuarto experimento dio nuevamente resultado positivo incluso usando doble ciego en el artículo de Maddox y cia viene con la leyenda: –The fourth demostration experiment (read `blind´) with unexpectedly high peaks– Sólo los últimos tres experimentos donde casualmente los «investigadores independientes» cambiaron el protocolo (cosa reprobable porque no eran inmunólogos ninguno de ellos) dio los resultados que ellos querían. Así que tienes 3 experimentos negativos donde no se siguió el protocolo original (que fue el acuerdo con Maddox y Benveniste antes ir a París y como condición para publicar el artículo de éste en Nature) contra un experimento leído a ciegas (con la dirección de Randi) que dio resultado positivo y tres de rutina leídos en ciego de acuerdo al protocolo Inserm. Añade los otros cuatro experimentos replicados por los cuatro laboratorios que te mencioné y que vienen como firmantes en el artículo original.

En cuanto a lo demás: le inste a que busque hombre, busque esto en google: Horizon I y II – Explicando al explicador. Ahí está la clara demostración de que el programa de la BBC presentó como replicación un protocolo que nunca fuera aprobado por Ennis sino por Martin Bland, el estadista que aparece al final del programa. Tome en cuenta que en el programa que se puede ver en Youtube se afirma que Ennis aprobó el protocolo cosa que es rotundamente falsa. Más detalles vas encontrar ahí en donde te digo que busques. En resumen: la seudoreplicación es un completo fraude.

Noto que su comprensión lectora es nula. el primer enlace que le puse es un conjunto de experimentos multi céntricos firmado por autores pertenecientes a 4 laboratorios de distintas universidades. El artículo es este: Histamine dilutions modulate basophil activation – Inflammation Research. Laa la conclusión: -The findings presented in this paper suggest that high dilutions may indeed exert an effect on cellular activity.-

En cuanto a lo demás confirma mi supuesto. El ensayo publicado en Plos One es triple ciego (el estadista también fue cegado a los resultados), y el experimento consta de 3 grupos: Fluoxetina 46 pacientes; Placebo 43 pacientes; Homeopatía 44 pacientes. A los pacientes de homeopatía se les dió potencias 30 C (10E60) y 200C (10E400) lo dice claramente en el artículo. Al grupo que se le dio homeopatía no se le dio fluoxetina.

Usted acusa de ignorancia a otros pero yo puedo demostrar que usted es un completo ignorante del asunto Benveniste. Boiron financió el estudio bajo contrado con el INSERM, no fue cosa de nada más llegar a ver que hacen, y la financiación también se dió al equipo enviado por Nature al menos para los gatos de estadia, y dudo mucho que usted diga que Maddox y cia fueron influenciados por Boiron para concluir a su favor. No, no y no.

Reitero, me resulta llamativo que no menciones que Boiron no financio los otros 4 laboratorios participantes del estudio orignal que replicaron los resultados de Benveniste y que el informe Maddox sólo se enfocó en lo acontecido en París y no en otro lado. También resulta muy sospechoso que no menciones que el informe Maddox pone excusas para no abordar los experimentos de los otros laboratorios. Se puede leer esto en la página: 290:

-We have not been able to pay as much attention as we would have wished to the data collected at other laboratories and cited in Davenaas et al., but we have examined documentary evidence avaliable…. The data gathered in Israel and Milan are, apparently, significant… Thought there are no duplicate measurements and therefore no direct evidence of sampling error, there is also some evidence of degranulation at high dilution. Without knowing more about the circunstances, we are unable to comment-

También sorprende que a más de 20 años del asunto omitas las nuevas replicaciones rigurosas que no son fraudulentas como la seudoreplicación transmitida por la BBC Horizon. Me refiero a por ejemplo: «Histamine dilutions modulate basophil activation» publicada en 2004 en la revista por pares Inflammation Research, donde Boiron solo aparece como el que pidio el estudio pero todo lo demás fue realizado independientemente por 4 laboratorios en Bélgica, Francia, Noruega e Italia, y es la replicación del estudio Benveniste usando la técnica de conteo de basófilos y la citometría de flujo todo con un protocolo exigente que involucró una codificación a doble ciego y mejoras en las técnicas analíticas usadas.

Rafael Sopedra: Usted dice ser abógado pero con toda calma y sin datos (irónico) asegura que no hay datos que soporten la homeopatía. Usted como abogado debería saber que el fraude es un délito, y mucho peor cuando se consciente por algunos medios de comunicación. Muchos de los ciencinazis (que en realidad se conocen como seudoescépticos o pseudoskeptiks y que el artículo presente no dice nada nuevo salvo que aparece por fin en un medio) están coludidos con la corrupción. No me crea a mí, recientemente en el asunto Séralini se ha denunciado que la propaganda del lobby seudoescéptico (en España tenemos a ARP-SAPC y Círculo Escéptico) y su homólogo EEUU CSI(COP) están coludidos con las industrias del sector transgénicos.
